Olive ( Olivia) D. MacAuley, nee Fontaine, 93, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness. She was born February 27, 1914 in Lake Linden, Michigan and has been a Vermilion resident since 1998. She had lived in Torrance California from 1962 to 1998 and prior to 1962 had been a Michigan resident. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, CA and worked for the Army Ordinance during World War II. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Palos Verdes, CA and St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, reading, playing the piano, and playing games with her gradchildren.. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Tomshack of Vermilion; son, Stephen MacAuley of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Claire Coates of Greensboro, NC, Maxine Fontaine of Hemet, CA, Lisa Storm of Rolling Hills, CA; brother, Robert "Bob" Fontaine of Cudahy, WI. Preceding her in death were her husband, Duncan MacAuley, parents, Henry and Laura (nee Denomie) Fontaine; 2 great-grandchildren, Amber Miller and Mary Ann DeFilippo; sister; Florence Watson; 3 brothers, Theodore, Edward, Leon Fontaine. Services will be private. Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio will be handling arrangements.
