Ollie Marie Griffin

Ollie Marie Griffin (nee Harvey), 82, of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness. She was born January 19, 1927 in Somerville, TN. and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 49 years, moving from Whiteville, TN. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vermilion. She enjoyed her family, shopping, church activities and was active in the J.O.Y. Class. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Mary ( Bobby) Richardson of Vermilion, and Dorothy Pounds of Huron; 3 sons, James Murray Griffin of Huron, John Deen (Jackie) Griffin of Vermilion, Edward Lee Griffin of Elyria ; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchild; and sister, Georgene Henson of Whiteville, TN She was preceded by her husband, William C. Griffin on November 28, 2005; son, William Clayton Griffin, 4 sisters, Juanita, Irene Glover, Grace Goodman, and Myrdis Goodman; 2 brothers, Clayton and Eugene Harvey; 2 half brothers, Raymond and Thurmond Houston and her parents, Simon and Alice Viola (nee Davis) Harvey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
