Otto H. Fuerst, 85 of Lorain, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in Community Health Partners West, Lorain after a short illness. He was born October 21, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Lakewood, and has been a resident of both Shaker Hts and Aurora. He has been a Lorain resident for the past 7 years moving from Huron. He worked for Ohio Parks Industry for 30 years retiring in 1970. After his retirement he worked as a small business accountant. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He had been a member of St. Dominic�s Catholic Church, Shaker Hts. and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Aurora. He enjoyed the water, fishing, golfing, playing cards, visiting different casinos, and making people laugh. He is survived by 2 daughters, Marilyn Charville of Sandusky, OH and Susan Ide and her companion Dan Raeburn of Vermilion; 5 grandchildren Roger Fuerst and his wife Leanna, Jennifer Ide and her companion Doug Guska of Tallmadge, Ohio, Daniel Fuerst of Portland, OR, Robert Ide and his wife Leslie of Augusta, GA and Kevin Charville of Milan and a great granddaughter Bella Fuerst of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose E. (nee Contardo) Fuerst in 1993,son, Roger A. Fuerst; sister, Erma Sandel; and brother, Alfred Fuerst. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 2 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio. Memorial contributions maybe made to Second Harvest for Hunger food Bank 7445 Deer Trial Lane, Lorain, Ohio 44053. Funeral arrangement by Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermillion, OH 44089.
