Ozzie "Scott" Browning Iii

Ozzie "Scott"  H. Browning III, 76, of Sheffield Lake, died Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Ames Family Hospice Facility after a lengthy illness.

He was born February 1, 1947 in Christian, WV and had been a Sheffield Lake resident for the past  year moving from Reynoldsburg and had been a Vermilion resident most of his life.

Ozzie was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during Vietnam War.

Ozzie worked for Ford Motor Co for 30.5  years retiring in 1997.

He loved fishing, boating, golfing, gardening, his roses, and cookouts with friends and family. He had a big presence in any room and will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine (nee Dyer) Browning of Sheffield Lake; sons, Ernie (Nancy) Minor, Lee (Pam) Minor, Brett Langston, and Brian Langston; granddaughters, Carrie (Eric) McKee, Kristen (John) Minor, Kaylee (Cole) Mayer, and Kelsey (Austin) Minor; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Bert (Gail) Browning,  Mike Browning, and Paul Browning; sister, Linda (Bob) Greer; aunts, Shelby Robinette, Phylis Morgan, Joann Morgan, and Quinn Morgan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozie and Helen (nee Morgan) Browning; daughter, Tabitha Browning; sister, Sandy Buchanan and brother, Robert "Bobby" Browning.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate. Military honors will be conducted just prior to the service.
