Patricia Ruth Carpenter

Patricia Ruth Carpenter (nee Diewald), 93, formerly of North Ridgeville, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at her daughter's home in Wakeman.

She was born January 26, 1929 in Elyria, OH and had been a Wakeman resident for the past year and a half moving from North Ridgeville where she had resided over 70 years.  Patricia had a road named after her in North Ridgeville, Patricia Ave.

Patricia worked with her husband, Donald (Carpenter's Floor Sanding), refinishing floors for 34 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her daughter in Florida where they would often attended different church functions.  She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing.  Patricia loved being a stay at home mom who was always willing to help family when they needed a place to stay.

She is survived by her sons, Chris (Sue) Carpenter of TN and Patrick (Debbie) Carpenter of Easton Twp, OH; daughters, Susan K (Carl) Werner of Wakeman, OH, Virginia (Mitchell) Avnaim of Florida and Robin Carpenter of NC; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H Carpenter in 2000; parents, George and Rose (nee Obringer) Diewald; brothers, Gilbert, Leroy, Raymond, and Earl; and her sisters, Mildred, Ursula, Dolleva, Dorothy, Delores, and JoAnn.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate.  Inurnment will take place at Butternut Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
