Patricia "Pat" Fultz (nee Henkes), 87, of Vermilion, died peacefully, March 10, 2013 at home after a lengthy illness. She was born November 19, 1925 in Wellington. She had been a Vermilion resident for the past 69 years. She graduated from Vermilion High School in 1943 and attended Bowling Green State University for a year before marrying her high school sweetheart , Bill. She later graduated from Bowling Green and taught second grade for the Vermilion Local Schools from 1965 until she retired in 1986. Pat was an active lifetime member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion, where she sang in the choir and volunteered in many ways to support the church. She was a long standing member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post #397 and served as its president in 1957. She was also a member of the First Ladies Golf League. Mrs. Fultz was a dedicated, caring teacher and a tireless community volunteer. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, golfing, and boating, and especially loved sharing time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Robert) Bortel of Bowling Green, and Claudia (John) Whitehall of Powell; sons, Randy (Janet) Fultz of Maineville and David (Linda) Fultz of Vermilion; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Bill E. Fultz on Dec. 23, 2010; her parents, Harold & Dorothy (nee Gerrish) Henkes; sisters, Jane Ruggles, and Doris Long, and a brother, William Henkes. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. to the time of a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverends Bob Richardson and Louis Bertoni will co-officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions to United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street, P.O.
