On Friday, April 24, 2020, Patricia Ann Koinis passed away peacefully in Madison, GA at the home of her daughter, Julia Kimmel, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was 88 years old. Patricia was born on October 6, 1931 in Toledo, OH to Joseph and Lila Davey Livi. A 1949 graduate of DeVilbiss High School, she went on to study music at the University of Toledo. She met William, the love of her life, on a blind date in 1951. As he picked her up for that date, William’s first memory is of watching as she descended the stairs of her family home. First, her penny loafers, then bobby socks, white shorts and by the time he saw her face, he was in love. They married later that year and had four children. In 1960 they moved their lively family to Vermilion OH and opened the A & W Root Beer Stand. They moved to Madison, GA in 2016. Patricia had a love of music and was a gifted soprano. At a young age, she performed a solo at Carnegie Music Hall in New York City. She shared her gift through her church as a dedicated soloist, choir participant, and youth choir leader. A skilled seamstress, she passed her knowledge on to her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest legacies will be the gorgeous heirloom quilts she lovingly made for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia was an avid reader. She pursued that which challenged her mind and loved puzzles of all types. She enjoyed playing games and was fond of the time she spent playing Bridge and Pinochle with friends and family. A lifelong and knowledgeable gardener, she was known for her beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. Late in life, she developed a special group of friends through her Water Aerobics group. They became known as the ‶Mermaids″, whose love and kindness will always be remembered by Patricia’s husband William and her children. Patricia is survived by her husband of 69 years, William; son John (Dianne Rose) Koinis; daughters Jennifer (David) Hussey, Jodi (John) Wood, and Julia (John) Kimmel; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and sister Jacqueline. She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Lila Livi. A memorial service will be held at a later date
