Patricia Ann Owens

Patricia Ann Owens (nee Kolesar), 78, of Vermilion, died Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 4, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past seven years, moving from Middle Bass Island, Ohio.

Patricia worked in the Finance Department for the City of Ashland for 13 years, retiring in 2014. Prior to that, she worked in the Finance Department for the City of Sheffield Lake and for First Video in Sheffield Lake.

Patricia had a strong interest in genealogy and enjoyed studying and researching her family history. She also found enjoyment in tole painting, cross-stitching, cooking, and putting together puzzles. She cherished time spent with her family and will be remembered for the love and memories she shared with those close to her.

She is survived by her son, Sean Owens of Vermilion; sisters, Sharon (Irvin) Shaheen of Ashland and Ellen (Tom) Lesiaka of Macedonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald F. Owens; her parents, Anthony and Sophie (nee Crofutt) Kolesar; and her infant sister, Helen.

Friends may call Saturday, September 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. 

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
