Patsy L. Holcomb (nee Dye), 71, of Vermilion, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born July 5, 1945 in Jenkins, KY and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 46 years moving from Lorain. Patsy had worked for Vermilion Schools as a school monitor. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Vermilion and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, canning, serving the Lord, and spending time with her family. She had also won several beauty contests including Miss Jenkins Beauty Contest when she was younger. She is survived by her husband to whom she married Dec. 15, 1967, Edward W. Holcomb of Vermilion; sons, Edward D. (Shari) Holcomb of Sylvania and Erik (Hallie) Holcomb of North Ridgeville; daughter, Lillian Jane (John) Bowden of North Ridgeville, 7 grandchildren: Edward J. Sgt. USMC, Tyler A. Sgt. USMC, John Andrew, Joshua, Emily, Kora, and Caleigh: 2 step grandchildren, Christopher Sgt USMC and Megan; step great granddaughter, Alice; and brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Sylvia Johnson of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Lillian (nee Anderson) Dye. The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
