Paul Maynard Heller, 90, of Amherst, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at his home after a brief illness. He was born October 15, 1928 in Amherst where he had been a life long resident. Paul began his carrier with the Cleveland Quarries as a stone cutter and retired as the head machinist after 42 years in 1990. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst, Knights of Pythia, and the Hickory Tree Grange, Amherst. Paul enjoyed woodworking, painting, reading, and crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris (nee Hulley) Heller; sons, Lewis (Deborah) Heller of Amherst, Michael (Brenda) Heller of Lorain, Thomas (Michele) Heller of Wakeman, Daniel (Angie Phillips) Heller of Wakeman; daughters, Catherine (James) Mracek of Orwell, Paula (Greg) Dudek of North Ridgeville, Brenda (Rick Burns) Heller of Elyria, and Julie Cottrell of Royal Oaks, MI; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and his sister, Lois Barnes of Amherst. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary (nee Arndt) Heller; his daughter, Nancy May Phillips in 2016; and his grandson, Eric O'Neal in 1998. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 29, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Rugby Cemetery, Brownhelm Twp.
