Paul M. Peltz, 81 of Lorain, died Monday, April 14, 2008 in Community Health Partners in Lorain, following a sudden illness. He was born July 29, 1926 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lorain High School class of 1944B, then enlisting in the United States Navy in the fall of the same year. He served during WWII as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class in Virginia and Texas until the summer of 1946. He worked as a tool and die maker for the Cleveland Cadillac Tank Plant for a few years and then for General Industries for most of his adult life, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Louise (nee Szabo) Peltz; daughters, Cathy Peltz of Lorain, LuAnn (Glenn) Prokesh of Avon Lake and Marybeth Peltz of Westlake; sons, Paul M. Peltz, Jr. of Lorain, Greg (Julie) Peltz of Amherst, Jon (Jane) Peltz of Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida and David (Karol) Peltz of Lorain; 4 grandchildren, Allison, Gregory II, Michael, and Madison; sister, Helen Peltz of Strongsville. He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Michael and Frances (nee Ziomber) Peltz, brother, Henry Peltz and sisters, Julia Kolasinski and Sophie Kietlinski. Friends will be received on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Joe West, OFM Conv., pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial with military honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
