Paul L. Raffo

Paul L. Raffo, aged 89, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born on October 3, 1934, in Memphis, TN, Paul had been a resident of Vermilion for the last 66 years, having relocated from Memphis.

A proud veteran of the US Army, Paul dedicated 35 years of his life to Ford Motor Co. Lorain, where he served as a supervisor until his retirement in 1988.

Paul was an esteemed life member of AMVETS Post #22, where he held the position of past Commander. Additionally, he was a life member of VFW Post #7576 and a member of the American Legion Post #397. His interests included hunting, fishing and rooting for his favorite football teams, The Pittsburgh Steelers and The Alabama Crimson Tide "Roll Tide".

He is survived by his daughter Patti (Jeff) McClelland of Wakeman, OH, and grandson Jacob Raffo of Vermilion.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. Raffo, in 2015, as well as his parents, Paul Andrew and Irene (nee Ubancic) Raffo.

Friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, located at 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home where military honors will be presented.  Reverend Tim Holt will officiate.  Private interment will follow will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
