Pearl A. Telatnik, age 100, of Lorain, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 in Amherst Manor following a short illness. She was born on October 1, 1903 in Poland. She immigrated with her family to Youngstown in 1908, moving to Lorain in 1920. She worked as a stenographer for Richman Brothers Clothing Store in Cleveland. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and the United Polish Club Women's Auxillary. She enjoyed watching sporting events, especially the Cleveland Indians. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and gardening. Her family and friends especially remember her famous perogies and apple pie. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Telatnik of Lorain; Alice (Louis) Kretovics of Lorain; grandchildren, Kay, Majesky, Dale Kretovics and Jane Stephanchick; 7 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wasiel Telatnik in 1971; parents, Martin and Mary (nee Mruk) Augustine; and sister, Emily Mika. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, 2003, from 9-10:30 am at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Prayers will be said at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain. Reverend Robert J. Glepko will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
