Phyllis L. Friend

Phyllis Friend,80 of Vermilion, died Friday, February 2, 2007 in Community Health Partners in Lorain following a 2-month illness. She was born February 26, 1926 in West Virginia and has lived in Vermilion for over 50 years, moving from Lorain. She had worked at the South Shore Packing Company in Vermilion as an olive packer and was a former Sunday School teacher at Harbourtown Foursquare Gospel Church. She enjoyed country music, gardening and feeding the birds. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Bible of Davis, West Virginia and Linda Pelander of Granger, Indiana; son, James W. of Vermilion; 5 grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Harry B. and Eva Ellen (nee Shirley) Roy. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 5, 2007 from 5:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 7:00 pm. The Reverend Jim Cooper, pastor of Harbourtown Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Thomas, West Virginia at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Harbourtown Community Church, 873 State Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
