Phyllis L. Harrell

Phyllis L. Harrell (nee Wells) 72, of Vermilion, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Kingston of Vermilion surrounded by her family. Born May 7, 1938 in Webbville, KY she had been a Vermilion resident for the past 54 years moving from Webbville. Phyllis had worked for South Shore Packing, Vermilion and MA Harrison, Birmingham. She was a very active member of North Lake Missionary Baptist Church, South Amherst. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Robert Harrell; daughter, Sharon (Jayson) Samons of Norwalk; 4 sons: David (Diane) Riggs of Willard, Dennis (Melissa) Riggs of Vermilion, James (Kelly) Riggs of Bedford, KY, and Joshua Harrell of Niles, OH; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: George Wells of Webbville, KY, James "Shorty" Wells of Vermilion, and Tom Wells of Vermilion; 5 sisters: Virginia Howard of Webbville, Sara Sexton of Willard, KY, Linda Thompson of Webbville, Myrtle Gump of Webbville, and Chloe Greene of Webbville; and sister-in-law, Sue Wells of Willard, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry M. and Rosa Malissa (nee Sparks) Wells; son, George Franklin Harrell; brother, Carlos Wells; and sister, Carol Wells, Friends may call Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:00 am at the North Lake Missionary Baptist Church 323 N. Lake St. South Amherst. Evangelist Rick Block will officiate.
