Phyllis Jeanette Kubach (nee Woodings), 86, of Vermilion, died Friday, January 10, 2004 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born October 1, 1917 in Lorain, Ohio and has lived most of her life in Amherst. She graduated from Amherst High School in 1936 and attended Akron School of Cosmetology. She had worked for Draves Beauty Shop in Amherst in the 1940's and 1950's. She then became a self employed cosmetologist, operating her business from her own home for 20 yrs. Mrs. Kubach enjoyed boating in Vermilion through Romps Water Port and Moes Marine, reading, crafts, needlework, and bingo. Survivors include 2 sisters, Gladys Moyer of Vermilion, and Margaret Salaga of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 1 brother, Donald Woodings of Amherst, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul Kubach in 1987, and parents, Joseph M. and Dorothy (nee Culver) Woodings. Friends may call Wednesday, January 14, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH 44089. The Reverend J. Dennis Henkle, pastor of the Birmingham United Methodist Church, will officitae. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
