Phyllis Turner

Phyllis Ann Turner (nee Dombrowski), 86, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born December 27, 1934 in Lorain and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 63 years moving from Sheffield Lake. Phyllis was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish where she had been active with the Altar and Rosary Society, choir, and served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed going to Ritter Public Library, reading, exercising at the YMCA, puzzles, traveling, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Turner of Lorain; son, John (Anne) Turner of Cleveland Heights; grandson, J. Drake Turner; sister, Cecelia Spando of Wadsworth; and her brother, Benjamin Dombrowski of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Turner in 1990; son, Walter Benjamin Turner; parents, Benjamin and Anne (nee Mikulski) Dombrowski; brothers, Dan and Jerry Dombrowski; and her sister, Joan Fletcher. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of a prayer service at 11:00 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH. Father Paul Schreiner will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
