Ralph L. Leimbach

Ralph L. Leimbach, 80 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born June 1, 1924 in Amherst and was a life long Brownhelm resident. He was a self employed farmer and the fifth generation to operate the Leimbach family farm. He also owned the Leimbach Insurance Agency in Vermilion. He was a graduate of Brownhelm High School Class of 1942. He was a member of the Brownhelm Untied Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Ely Masonic Lodge #424 and the Barbershop Chorus Association. He served as a Brownhelm Township Trustee for 30 years. He was a charter member of the Once - A - Month Club. He enjoyed woodworking, playing bridge and gardening. His greatest treasures were his family, community and friends. Survivors include wife, Alida (nee van der Oord); daughters, Kathleen Ehrlich of Signal Mountain, TN and Amy McGuire of Galion; son, Robert L. Leimbach of Birmingham 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert L. and Florence (nee Wagner) Leimbach, his son, Peter Leimbach in 1987; and a brother, James C. Leimbach. A memorial service will be held at the Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ,2144 North Ridge Road, Vermilion, Friday, December 31, 2004 at 2 p.m, Reverend Elizabeth Terrill will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
