Ralph Anthony Palermo, 92, formally of Vermilion, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Cleveland Clinic Richard E Jacobs Health Center, Avon, after a short illness. Ralph was born September 24, 1924 in Lorain. He had also lived in Lorain. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War. Ralph retired from the maintenance department at Ohio Edison. He was a member of Ely Lodge #424, AMVETS Post 22, Vermilion and enjoyed playing cards. He was a meal time regular, at the Nest and AMVETS. He is survived by a granddaughter and grandson, great grandchildren and a brother, Gerald Palermo of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Guy Palermo, first wife, Loretto Palermo, in 1984 and second wife, Doris Palermo, in 2011. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 12:30 pm to the time of a Masonic Service at 2 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Father Jim Holmer will officiate. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
