Raymond Earl Osborn, 64, of Vermilion, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 23, 1960, in Norwalk, Ohio, Ray had lived in Vermilion for the past eight years after moving from Elyria.
He worked in the electrical department at Webb-Stiles Co. in Valley City for more than a decade-a role he truly enjoyed.
A quiet man by nature, Ray lit up when it came time to cheer on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Football Sundays were his favorite, especially when spent with family and friends. He also had a deep appreciation for rock music and was an avid reader, with a special fondness for westerns.
Ray is survived by his stepfather, Daniel G. McCarthy of Norwalk; his brothers, Rick (Donna) Osborn of North Fairfield and Robert (Tonya) Osborn of Borger, Texas; his sisters, Patti (Chris) Neiding of Vermilion and Debbie Roswell of Anderson, SC; his stepsister, Dawn McCarthy of Vermilion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (nee Ernest) McCarthy, his father, Rex Osborn; his sister, Kathy Osborn; his brother, Jack Osborn; and his stepsister, Erin McCarthy.
Private services were held.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ray’s memory to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., Ste. 260, Independence, OH 44131 or online at www.HonorALovedOne.org.
