Raymond D. Schuster, 84 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Huron following a brief illness. He was born March 14, 1922 in Vermilion and has been a lifelong resident. He was a self-employed dairy and grain farmer on the "Never Done Acres" until retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Ely Lodge #424 and the Grange. He loved horses. He is survived by a nephew, Howard Schuster of Berlin Heights; nieces, Shelly Mann of Vermilion, Joyce Berger and Betty Plumb, both of Berlin Heights; sister-in-law, Edna Schuster of Berlin Heights; 3 step-grandchildren, Scott, Shannon and Shawn. He was preceded-in-death by his wife, Dorothea (nee Manning) Schuster, step-son, Dennis McCrea, parents, Henry and Marie (nee Knott) Schuster, brothers, Harold and John Schuster and sister, Alice Schuster. Friends may call on Friday, March 9, 2007 from 6-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 10:00 am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Reverend Bill Seith, pastor of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate.
