RB Massey, 71 of Vermilion, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain. He was born May 5, 1932 in Oak Hill, West Virginia and has been a Vermilion resident since 1959 moving from Detroit, MI. He worked at the Lorain Ford Plant in the motor repair department retiring after 41 years. Mr. Massey is a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Amvets Post # 22, Vermilion, Local Union #425, enjoyed volunteering with the Vermilion Athletic Boosters especially at the Bingo Concession Stand. He also enjoyed genealogy and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Mary Massey (nee Talbert) , 2 sons, Robert B. Massey of Shiloh, Illinois, and Steven S. Massey of Vermilion; 1 daughter, Kimberly K. Zander of Vermilion; 7 grandchildren; sister, Bea Kreibel of Titusville, FL; and 5 brothers, William Massey of Beltsville, MD, Roy Massey of Temple Hills, OH, Jack Massey of Oberlin, OH, JC Massey of Key West, FL, and Tom Massey of Oak Hill, WV. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Roberta (nee Bowman) Massey, and 2 brothers: John and Lawrence Massey. Friends may call Tuesday August 26, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St. Vermilion. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home Wednesday at 1 pm with the Rev. William Bess, pastor of the Lincoln St. Chapel will be officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
