Rebecca “Becky” Neiding, 68, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Mercy New Life Hospice as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born October 12, 1956, in Lorain, Becky was a lifelong resident of Vermilion. She dedicated 24 years to her career as a food services manager with Marriott, retiring in 2016. In her retirement, she continued to share her time and talents by helping at German’s Villa in Vermilion.
A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, Becky was a passionate supporter of the Vermilion Sailors. She could often be found working the concession stands, volunteering with the athletic boosters, and cheering on the high school sports teams and musical performances-especially when her beloved nieces and nephews were involved. To many of them, she was more than an aunt; she was a second mom whose love and encouragement knew no bounds.
Becky is survived by her sisters, Peggy Trippett (Paul) of LaGrange, KY, and Cynthia L. Neiding (Gary Gangluff) of Sandusky; brothers, Edward D. Neiding of Elyria, Mark B. Neiding (Jacqueline), David F. Neiding, and Michael A. Neiding (Tonya), all of Vermilion; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Margaret Jane Neiding; sister, Mary Jane Neiding; sister-in-law, Holly M. Neiding; nephew, Bryan Neiding; and niece, Kimberly Trippett.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
