Remo P Epifano

Remo P. Epifano, 82, of Lorain, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness. Remo was born December 30, 1929 in Lorain where he has been a life long resident. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1948 and was a veteran of the US Air Force. Remo worked for Ohio Edison for 5 years after his service in the Air Force and then began working for Columbia Gas as a welder for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church and the IAV. He enjoyed bowling, plumbing work, making wooden lawn ornaments, and being a father. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Marie (nee Anthony) Epifano; sons, Ramie (Wanda) Epifano of Denver, CO, Phillip (Sandy) Epifano of Denver, CO, and Raymond (Lisa) Epifano of Vermilion; daughters, Marie (Tim) Rice of Little Rock, AK and Sabrina Epifano of Lorain; step sons, Jackie Elliott of Columbus, James Elliott of Bidwell, OH, and John Elliott of Lorain; step daughters, Dreama Scott of Columbus and Rosa Jones of Bidwell, OH; 47 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Anna Marie Epifano; step sister, Anna Marie Sinabaldi; and half brother, Daniel Sinabaldi. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski- Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue Lorain Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave. Lorain.
