Rev. Donald Christian Resecker, 64, of Berlin Heights died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Lakewood Hospital after a 4 month illness. Reverend Resecker was born May 5, 1949 in Jericho, OH. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy where he trained as a dental technician. While he was in the service, his duty stations included Rhode Island, Bethesda, Maryland where he worked as a White House dental repair technician, Andrews Air Force Base and Iceland. He attended Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Bachelors and Masters of Ministry. He was currently enrolled in his doctorate program. He pastored Baptist Churches in Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida and was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Vermilion from 2003 to 2012. He had many church related trainings and responsibilities. He loved hunting, his family and his relationship with God. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bonnie Sue (nee Davis) Resecker of Berlin Heights; daughter, Michele L. Compton of Sandusky; son, Wayne A. Resecker at home, 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Patti, Ashley, T.J., Christian and Travis; mother, Vivian (nee Haught) Resecker of Norton and brother, Dan (Laura) Resecker of Norton. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Resecker Burial will be Monday May 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 6:00 PM at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Road, Vermilion, Ohio.
