Elder Richard Allen Adams, 78, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born May 8, 1943 in Fleming-Neon, KY and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 48 years moving from Elyria. Richard graduated from Fleming-Neon High School in 1961 where he played football. Richard worked as a supervisor for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a past member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Cedar Creek, WV and was ordained as an Elder in 2000 with First Baptist Church, Birmingham. Richard enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, collecting artifacts, gardening, heavy machinery, and he especially enjoyed family gatherings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dreama (nee Cook) Adams of Vermilion; sons, James Michael Adams of Berlin Hts. and Andrew (Jennifer) Adams of Mt. Airy, NC; daughter, Alanna Louise (nee Adams) O'Bryon of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brennon Farley, Nick Farley, Jessica (Daniel)Schmidt, Jon Adams, Joseph Adams, Alyssa (Ryan) Langdon, William O'Bryon, Abigail Spencer, Caleb Adams, and Cameron Adams; and his great grandchildren, Skyler, Ava, Ellie, Addie, Austin, and Skylar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Hazel J. (nee Wright) Adams; his daughter, Tammy Lynn (nee Adams) Farley in 2010; and his sister, Hazel A Puckett.
