Richard Bozzi

Richard "Rich" Patrick Bozzi, 73, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness with COVID 19. He was born April 17, 1947 in Detroit, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years. Rich was a veteran of the US Navy serving during Vietnam. He worked for Bettcher Industries, Birmingham, as a Design Engineer for 33 1/2 years retiring in 2009. Rich was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, Vermilion where he was active with the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of AMVETS Post #22 . He enjoyed woodworking, going to car shows, bowling, and fishing and golfing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne (nee Simon) Bozzi of Vermilion; daughters, Theresa (Rich) Piskur of Vermilion, Mary Asunta Bozzi of Vermilion, and Tina (Frank) Workman of Union, KY; grandchildren, Valerie (Chad) Martin, Violet Piskur, Torie Piskur, Austin Patrick Bozzi, Merisa Workman, and Kai Workman; great-grandchildren, Addison and Jaxon Martin; brother, Patrick James "Jim" Bozzi of Warren, MI; and his sisters, Irene Williams of Rochester Hills, MI, Patricia Miller of Millington, MI,and Sunday (David) Reed of Burton, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale Palm and Prima Asunta (nee Casola) Bozzi; brother, Robert Bozzi; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange St, Vermilion, OH 44089. The Reverend Paul Schreiner will officiate. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing.
