Richard E. 'Dan' St. Clair

Richard E. "Dan" St. Clair, 77, of Lorain, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Richard was born August 3, 1938 in Parkersburg, WV, and had been a Lorain area resident for the past 45 years moving from Canonsburg, PA. He graduated from Washington High School and was a Veteran of the Army National Guard serving from 1955-1963. Richard then worked for 30 years as a bus driver for SBS transit which later became Cleveland Lorain Highway Coach, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Black River Masonic Lodge #786, F&AM of Ohio, American Legion Post #30, and a past member of the AMVETS Post #22. Richard enjoyed collecting model trains and cars, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Indians, and NASCAR. He is survived by his sons, Daniel St. Clair of Lorain, Michael St. Clair of Lorain, Richard St. Clair of PA, Ralph St. Clair of TX, and Walter Wells of Lorain; daughters, Esther Teter of Lorain, Sandra Yee of Lorain, Tina Foster of TN, and Danyell Buga of Lorain; step daughter, Hollie Alten of Vermilion, Peggy Wells of Sandusky, and Kristen Smith of Sandusky; step son, Lloyd Wells of Dayton; 115 grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Doug St. Clair; and his former wife Nancy Darlene St. Clair (nee Conner) of TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra St. Clair in 2015; parents, Earl and Twila (nee Grow) St. Clair; daughter, Terry Lopez of TX; son, Harry James Stubenbordt; brothers, Dave and Don St. Clair; and sister, Denise Kotora. The family will receive friends Friday, January, 15, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 16, 216 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Karson Colins will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst where the Lorain Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
