Richard Thomas Dobos, Sr., 65, of Vermilion, passed away Monday, July, 25, 2016 at New Life Hospice in Lorain. Richard was born June 2, 1951 in Campbell, OH. He returned to Vermilion 2 years ago after living in Amherst for 15 years. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and attended Youngstown State majoring in Psychology. Richard worked for Republic Steel as an Assistant Speed Operator. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, going to casinos and visting Frankenmuth. He had a special interest in muscle cars, mainly Corvettes and Mustangs. He is survived by his wife of 39 and a half years, Kathleen Dobos (nee Datillo) of Vermilion; sons, Richard (Tara) Dobos of Amherst, and Greg (Bobbi) Dobos of Put In Bay; grandson, Beckett Thomas Dobos; granddaughters, Braylee Katherine Dobos and Averi Elizabeth Dobos; and brother, James Dobos of Boardman. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen (nee Kinnick) Dobos; and brother, John Dobos. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Closing prayers will be said Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Ron Brickner will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the donor's choice.
