Richard Eldridge, 67, formerly of Toledo died June 30, 2010 at Liberty Care Center, Toledo. He was born March 7, 1943 in Bedford Ohio and lived most of his life in Vermilion. He attended Case University and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and enjoyed collecting coins. He placed 6th in the U.S.A. in a mathematics contest sponsored by The Mathematical Association of America and the Society of Actuaries in 1960. Survivors include his brother, Bruce Eldridge of Elyria; sister-in-law Mary Jane Eldridge (nee Diedrick); aunt, Mary Louise Reisinger (nee Chandler); nieces, Elizabeth Gawen, Katherine France,and Rebecca Eldridge; nephews, Mark Eldridge and Paul Eldridge; 6 great nieces and 8 great nephews. His parents, Phillip and Marjorie (Chandler) Eldridge preceded him in death. Friends may call Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio from 2 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 4 p.m. Reverend Wendell Brooker will officiate. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
