Richard Rodeheaver

Richard Robert Rodeheaver, 90, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 22, 2026, following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 30, 1935, and had made Vermilion his home for the past 48 years after moving from Lorain.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. He dedicated 39 ½ years of service to Ford Motor Company, working in the Paint Department until his retirement in July 1998.

Richard embraced life fully and found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman who also enjoyed playing the guitar, dancing, and riding his Harley. Above all, Richard was a devoted family man whose love for his family was unwavering and fierce. He had a warm and welcoming spirit, treating extended family and friends as his own. His kindness, humor, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He was a faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was also a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite Masons, Eagles, AMVETS Post 22, and VFW Post 7576.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Ruth Rodeheaver; daughter, Brenda (Tom Burnett) Noch; granddaughter, Anna (Marty) Leland; great-grandson, Johnny Leland; brother, Dennis Rodeheaver; sisters, Janet Glass and Linda Wilson; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Iva (nee Summerfield) Rodeheaver; brothers, Joe and Earl Rodeheaver; and sisters, Dorleen Morris, Patricia Miller and Jean Biser.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion, OH 44089.
