Richard L. Watson

Richard L. Watson, 59, of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at St. John Medical Center following complications from cancer. Born January 15, 1951 in Sandusky, OH he had been a North Ridgeville resident for the past 7 years moving from Vermilion where he resided for 31 years. He graduated from Firelands High School in 1969 and worked as a bricklayer with Local 5, Cleveland, retiring in April 2010. Rick bowled for many years at Lake Erie Lanes in Vermilion, and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He particularly enjoyed bird watching and walks at the Sandy Ridge Reservation. Survivors include his wife of 38 year, Jacqueline (nee Eastin) Watson: daughter, Dawn (Michael) Lehnowsky of Avon; 3 grandchildren: Peyton, Brocton, and Marin Lehnowsky; mother, Mary (nee Humm) Watson of Elyria; brother, Tom (Janet) Watson of Cincinnati; and sister, Janet (Dr. Dennis) Lehman of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his father, Ulmont Watson in 2003. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Rick's life to be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 between 1:00 and 4:00 pm in the Vermilion Boat Club, 5416 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion, Oh 44089. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Richard L. Watson Memorial Fund, at any Key Bank. Memorial contributions will be used for the Sandy Ridge Reservation, North Ridgeville in Rick's memory.
