Rita K. Whitt

Rita K. Whitt (nee Leber), 88, of Vermilion, died Thursday, October 13, 2005 in Community Health Partners West, Lorain, after a sudden illness. She was born November 12, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio. She had spent the summers in Vermilion growing up and moved to Vermilion in 1956 from Lakewood. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She was also a member of AMVET Auxiliary Post #22, AARP, and the Olympic Outing Club, Vermilion. She enjoyed reading. She is survived by 2 daughters; Kathy Fischer of Vermilion, and Jane Whitt; and 2 sons Richard Whitt of Wheeling, WV and Donald Whitt of Vermilion, and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Whitt in 1997; her parents Andrew and Anna (nee Terhart) Leber, and 3 sisters, Helen Howley, Anne Bauer and Ruth Gibbons. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion on Monday, October 17, 2005, at 11 am with Reverend Jim Holmer officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
