Robert J. Andolsek, 71, of Wakeman, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness. Robert was born October 29, 1944 in Brownsville, PA. He had been a Ohio resident since 1963. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. Robert was owner and operator of the R J Andolsek Excavating retiring in 2007. He was a former member of the Huron Eagles. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking care of his yard. He was an excellent woodworker, including cabinet making and remodeling. He loved being with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara (nee Wiencke) Andolsek of Wakeman; sons, Scott (Michelle) Haber of Vermilion, and Mark (Melissa ) Haber of Olmsted Falls; his grandchildren, Caleb Cameron, Emma, Sean, and Evan Haber; brothers, Lou Andolsek of Thibodaux, LA, Frank (Betty) Andolsek of Amherst, and Ed (Dottie) Andolsek of Wakeman; sisters, Dorothy Nevedale of Elyria, Rose (Joe) Fantini of La Belle, PA and Patricia (Rich) Sobieski of Wellington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katherine (nee Brado) Andolsek, and brother, Richard Andolsek. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 11 a.m.until the time of the service at 1 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Jim Peter will officiate. Interment will be at Brownhelm Cemetery, Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors.
