Robert Eller Garman

Robert Eller Garman, 77, of Vermilion, died Sunday, May 14, 2006 in Erie County Care Facility after a lengthy illness. He was born April 26, 1929, in Cleveland and has been a Vermilion resident since 1997 moving from N. Olmsted. He graduated from Shaw High School and received at BA from Fenn College. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He owned Garman and Associates, a small business consulting company and was a tax accountant. He had worked as a Systems Designer for Standard Oil. He worked at IBM and was a Data Processing Supervisor for the City of Euclid Board of Education. He was a licensed and ordained minister of the Crystal Springs Christian Fellowship in North Ridgeville. He moved to Vermilion to assist with the Maple Grove Marina after retirement. He was a member of the Republican Club of North Olmsted, a trustee of the Crystal Shores Association, enjoyed golf, duplicate bridge, chess, tennis, sailing, and swimming. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria Jean Garman (nee Blackburn); sons, David Garman, Detroit, James Garman, of Vermilion; a daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Moore, Indianapolis; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Charles Garman, Woodstock, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Ella (Eller) Garman. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion. Reverend Terry Parker, pastor, will officiate.
