Robert Anthony Stack, Iii

Robert "Bob" Anthony Stack III, 75, of Vermilion, died Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born October 16, 1947 in Lorain, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 28 years moving from Lorain.

Bob worked for the City of Lorain Police Department for 36 years retiring in 2009 as a Lieutenant.

He was a member of the FOP #3, Vermilion AMVETS Post 22, Sons of the American Legion #397, and past member of VFW Post 7576.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, snow plowing, real estate, and he especially enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda (nee Balzer) Stack of Vermilion; sisters, Marie Dwyer of Novi, MI, Suzanne (Doug) Ashby of West Chester, IL, and Sheila Gatten of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anthony Jr. and Marcia (nee Schrenk) Stack and his infant brother, Joseph Bernard Stack.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
