Roberta 'Bobbie' Essick

Roberta "Bobbie" A. Essick 68, of Vermilion, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Metro Health Medical Center after a 2 month illness. Roberta was born in Ashland and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 45 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Ashland College and her master's degree from Kent State University. She was a third grade teacher for 30 years in the Vermilion Local School system. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, suduko, and traveling. She was a member of the Ohio Education Association and the National Education Association. Bobbie is survived by her cousins, James Enzor, Jr., Vermilion, Jason Enzor, Huron, Michael Enzor, Tallmadge and Kimberly Brooks, Suffield and special friends, Gary and Brenda Funk and Barb Roberts and her daughters, Sarah, Melissa and Jessica. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Gladys Essick. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Private graveside services will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at Ashland Cemetery. The Reverend Larry Houff officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
