Rodney Hoover

Rodney Rae Hoover, 88, of Vermilion, died Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born February 20, 1934 in Fremont , NE and grew up in Galion, OH.  He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 6 years moving from Huron.

Rodney worked as a machinist at Bettcher Industries, Birmingham for 15 years.

He was a member of Clarksfield Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  He enjoyed reading, crafts, and he especially enjoyed camping.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia (nee Stotts) Hoover; sons, Russell Hoover of Sandusky, Brian (Jennifer) Hoover of Urbana, OH and Lowell (Darlene) Hoover of Palm Bay, FL; daughter, Darla Smith of Landrum, SC; grandchildren, Joseph, Mary, Zech, Tim and Thomas; great grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Elizabeth, Ava, and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Marjorie (nee Haines) Hoover; brother, Richard Hoover; an infant brother; granddaughter, Jacquelyn; and his daughter-in-law, Janet Hoover.

Private services were held.
