Roger H Kennedy

Roger H. Kennedy, 83, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.

He was born July 14, 1939 in Detroit, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 56 years moving from Elyria.

Roger attended Ohio University where he was a member of the baseball team and Sigma Nu fraternity, before leaving to start a family.  He worked as a sales manager for LM Berry Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1993.  After his retirement, he had also worked for the National Yellow Pages and the United Way.

He was a member of the Huron Yacht Club, VFW Post #7576, American Legion Post #397; Amvets Post #22, and the Huron Eagles.  He enjoyed golfing, boating, and collecting many many many things!  Three of his greatest loves were The Ohio State Football team, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karen (nee Kellogg) Kennedy of Vermilion; sons, Michael (Cathi) Kennedy of Baltimore, OH and Roger "Max"  (Maribeth) Kennedy of Gainesville, GA; daughter, Shannon (Tom) Gilmore of Mariemont, OH; and his grandchildren, Connor, Claire, Parker, Bridget, Jack and Peyton; 3 sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Daniel and Charlotte (nee Zavitz) Kennedy, step father, Ken Wisneski; and his brother, Ronald Kennedy

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of a memorial service at 12 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
