Ronald Lloyd Ollis, Sr. 67 of Vermilion, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus after a short illness. He was born April 21, 1941 in Richlands, VA. and has been a Vermilion resident most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as an electrician for IBEW Local # 129 in Lorain for 37 years. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22 and Vermilion Fish & Game. His greatest joy in life was being with family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed visiting with friends, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. He is survived by his 2 sons, Ronald L. (Jean) Ollis, Jr. of New Washington and Nathaniel S. (Shannon) Ollis of Amherst; 4 grandchildren, Seth, Emma, Justin, and Brooklyn Ollis; a sister, Anita (Warren) Mehnert of Vermilion, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Nell C. (nee Curley) Ollis and his brother, Clarence Darrell Ollis. As per his request a private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
