Rosalia Zocchi

Rosalia "Rosa" Zocchi, 95 of Amherst, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Golden Acres Lorain County Home. She was born March 21, 1908 in Lorain, Ohio. During WW II, Rosa worked as a crane operator with Thew Shovel Co. She worked as a seamstress for Agnes Kay and other garment factories. She was a member of The Catholic Church of St. Peters and was a founding member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Rosa enjoyed gardening with roses, quilting, crocheting and sewing.. Survivors include daughters, Lillian Duray of Parma, OH, and Norma Capasso of Lorain, OH; sisters, Edvidge Guthry of Avon Lake, OH, and Elvira Clark of California; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Guerino "Gerry" Zocchi, parents, Antonio and Carmela (nee Zarlinga) Falasca, brothers Ernest and Armond Falasca. Friends may call Friday, October 17, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am Saturday, October 18, 2003 followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial to be held at The Catholic Church of St. Peter with Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest OH Chapter, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615-2820.
