Rose K. Miechur, 91 of Lorain, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst. She was born August 15, 1918 in Lorain, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Golden Acres in 2001. Rose was employed as a domestic, having worked in that capacity for several Lorain families during her working career. She enjoyed coin collecting, crossword puzzles and gardening. She was an excellent baker who found particular joy in baking and decorating bunny-shaped cakes at Easter for her many nieces and nephews. Rose was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include her sisters, Victoria (Harold) Rumpler of Lorain and Helen (John) Goodell of Amherst, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Frank and Kunegunda (nee Dudziak) Miechur, brother, Joseph Miechur and sisters, Anna Papay and Angeline Roll. Friends may call on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 4-7 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Members of the Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Holy Rosary at 5:00 pm. Closing Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
