Rosella E. Szekely

Rosella E. Szekely "Rusty" (nee Wargo) , 86, of Vermilion, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a short illness. She was born November 27, 1917 in Huron, OH and has been a Vermilion resident since 1935. She worked as a Food Service Manager for Vermilion Public Schools retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Vermilion, the Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Vermilion Garden Club, Amherst AARP, Vermilion AARP, Vermilion Golden Agers, Salvation Army, Keenagers, R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Persons) Lorain Chapter, and AMVETS Post 22, Vermilion.. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, birds, and bingo. Survivors include, Son, Frank J Szekely of Huron, OH; Daughter, Jean R. Alexander of Everett, Washington , 8 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 3 Sisters, Elizabeth Chubak of Huron, OH, Julia Rudisill of Sedalia, Missouri, Ethel Lagando of Huron, OH, and 1 Brother, Paul Wargo of Huron, OH. Preceding her in death were her husband, Frank Szekely, in 1979, parents, James and Mary (nee Kuhar) Wargo, and brothers Louis and James Wargo; and sister, Mary Kristoff and Ann Bailey. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion.. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion..
