Rosemarie H. Dunegan (nee McConnell), aged 97, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic Richard E Jacobs Health Center after a brief illness.
Born on September 13, 1926, in Loretto, PA, Rosemarie had been a resident of Vermilion for over 35 years, having moved from Lorain.
Devoted to her Catholic community, Rosemarie was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion and an advocate for the Right to Life. She loved being outside working in the yard, but also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing cards, and assembling jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Annette) Dunegan of Avon, OH, Ken (Jennifer) Dunegan of Chagrin Falls, OH, and Dick (Judy Kozarec) Dunegan of Vermilion, OH, as well as her daughter, Janet Dunegan of Centennial, CO. Rosemarie is also remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 4 1/2 great-grandchildren.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dunegan, in 2008, and is now reunited with her parents, Germanus and Irene (nee Driskel) McConnell, her brother James McConnell, and sisters Betty Nagel and Agnes Fox.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Carmelite Monastery, 2101 Manor Dr., Loretto, PA 15940.
