Roswitha "Rose" P. Kerpics (nee Egelhofer), 74, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born October 11, 1942 in Falkenstein, Rhineland Pfalz, Germany and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 43 years moving from Lorain. Rose was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, gardening, cooking, baking, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Kerpics of Vermilion; sons, James Kerpics of Vermilion and Erik (Joy Greene) Kerpics of Vermilion; daughters, Mary (Dana Butler) Kerpics of Vermilion and Nadine (Guy) Schuler of Lorain; grandchildren, Kristen, Kasey, Guy, and Cody Schuler, Ashley Rongyos, and Brandon, Derek, David, and Nikki Kerpics; and great granddaughter, Isabella Kerpics. She was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Johanna (nee Noe) Egelhofer; brothers, Albert and Heinrich Egelhofer; and her sister Klara Schodll. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Father Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
