Roy William Fiedler Jr.

Roy William Fiedler Jr., 87, of Vermilion, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.

Born on August 4, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA, Roy spent his childhood summers in Vermilion and made it his permanent home more than 50 years ago.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Roy owned and operated numerous theaters throughout Pittsburgh and Northern Ohio. His love of film extended beyond business-he greatly enjoyed watching classic movies, sharing time with his grandchildren and extended family, and connecting with friends and neighbors in his community.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 65 years, Helen (née DeWalt) Fiedler of Vermilion; his son, David Fiedler (Marion) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Jonathan "Jay" (Amy) Fiedler, Nicholas (Deanna) Fiedler, Jacklyn Fiedler, and David Fiedler Jr.; his brother, Robert (Diane) Fiedler of Florida; daughter-in-law, Lisa Fiedler and son-in-law, Mike Sykes.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Roy William Fiedler Sr. and Martha (née McCombs) Fiedler; his son, Roy W. Fiedler III; and his sister, Martha "Sudy" Duli.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes friends and loved ones to visit his wife, Helen, at Kingston of Vermilion.
