Roy B. Grills, 83, of Vermilion, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home after a short illness. He was born May 10, 1930 in Sullivan Co., TN and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 44 years moving from Lorain. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Roy worked as a body man for many different body shops. He then began working for Ford Motor Co., Lorain where he retired in 1993 after 19 years. He was a previous member of Tower Baptist Church and had attended Anchor Baptist Church, Vermilion. He enjoyed fixing old cars and trucks, gardening, fishing, camping, and vacationing at the beach. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Dave) Smith of Vermilion and Lisa (Frank) Elliott of Wakeman; grandchildren: Carrie, Derek, and Anthony; and sister, Mary Frances Stanford of Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Faye (nee Turnmire) Grills in 2007; parents, Noble and Blanch (Nee Thompson) Grills; sister, Anna Ruth Grills; and brother, James Grills. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Jamison will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors. The family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
