Ruby Boyd (nee Perry), 82 of Vermilion , died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born January 18, 1926 in Warfield, KY and has been a Vermilion resident since 1962, moving from Huron. She worked as a cook for Liberty Tavern in Vermilion for several years. Ruby was a life member of the American Legion #397 where she helped prepare fish for the fish fries. She was also a member of Amvets Post #22 and enjoyed making quilts to be auctioned off for the Amvets and American Legion fundraisers. She also enjoyed reading, and bowling. Survivors include her son, Clinton (Tammie) Boyd of Vermilion; grandchildren: Danny, Shane, Tim, Zach Boyd, Jessica Moore, and Kristen Hurt; and 9 great grandchildren . Preceding her in death were her husband Joseph Boyd in 1991, parents, Nathan and Maryann (nee Jourdan) Perry, a son Daniel Boyd in 2007 and a grand daughter Dori Lynn Boyd. Private services will be held with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
