Russell Lee Dixon

Russell Lee Dixon, 75, of Vermilion, died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin after a lengthy illness. He was born January 23, 1946 in Ashton, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 57 years moving from West Virginia. Russell worked as a supervisor for 30 years for Ford Motor Co. Lorain and Avon, retiring in 1992. After his retirement, he became a  licensed  contractor and worked as a general contractor. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion, and a past member of the Masons and the Gideon's International. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Dixon of Vermilion; daughters, Sonia (Jim) Nimtz of Lake Jackson, TX, Lynette (Steve) Lias of Vermilion, and Beth (James) Stewart of Avon Lake; grandchildren, Eric, Luke, Jacob, Tanner, Zoey, and Mason; and his sister, Ruth Walker of Milton, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dexel and Irene (nee Sturgeon) Dixon and his sister, Carol Ann Scarberry. Private family services were held.
