Russell "Russ" Louk, 81, of Vermilion, died Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Oak Hills Nursing Center after a brief illness.
He was born September 5, 1942 in Wheeling, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for over 50 years moving from Sheffield Township.
Russ was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
Russ worked for the FAA center in Oberlin as an Air Traffic Control Supervisor for 32 years retiring in 2001.
He was a member of AMVETS Post #22. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, hunting, bowling, and collecting coins and guns.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary "Jerry" Louk of Vermilion; daughters, Tammy (Johnny) Swindle of Ponchatoula, LA, and Shannon (Matt) Garrett of The Dalles, OR; grandsons, Stephon Louk of WA and Seth Louk of LA; great-granddaughter, Adley Louk; and siblings, Richard Louk, Bob Louk and Nancy Barr.
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell "Rusty" Louk; parents, Charles and Delcia (nee Baugham) Louk; granddaughter, Kristina Bernard; and brothers, Bryan Louk, Charles Louk, Virgil Louk, Don Louk, and Gary Louk.
Honoring Russ's wishes, no public services will be held.
Russ's family would like to thank the caring staff at Oak Hills Nursing Home in Lorain and Hospice for their support.
